Where does he get his A4?

He is definitely a baritone, by the way, his work with Soulsavers has some really baritonish and low singing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fmRw1V0_qM : Screaming Trees - Look at you
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eujkWXfSl0 : A cover of Leadbelly's "Where did you sleep last night". He somewhat reminds me of Layne Staley.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PE5f561Y1x4&ob=av3e : Screaming Trees - "Nearly lost you"

He seems to hit lots of E2's. I'll search for more of his lows.

I'll try to pitch "Rooster". I read somewhere that he's managed to hit A4's live but he usually avoided them. I just don't have a proof for now Smile

He hits G#4 and Bb4 in his cover of "Rooster".

The very first note he hits in "Where did you sleep last night" is an E2. There's also one in the beginning of "Look at you".

I think I get your point, I won't post stuff in here and make statements unless I can come with the audio proof and time stamp Wink. I'll leave it to the pros.

No, it is great that you share these notes, I just need timestamps to confirm these notes. One thing what I have to say is that you should have some notes pitched before making a thread, others don't like seeing blank threads.

Nonethless, keep it up, Lanegan is cool.

Yeah, I'm surprised that nobody thought of him before. Also, Billy Corgan doesn't seem to have a thread either. However I won't do it because I can't stand listening to him.

I recall "Halo of Ashes" being kinda high.
Edit: ...not really

I don't think I've heard much range by him, probably only B2-G#4 or so. He definitely has 2nd octaves either way... I know what you mean about his voice though. Laughing

His parts sound really low in this song. Maybe there is something significant.

Tons of solid C2s and D2s, probably a bit lower too... Awesome find!
