His F#5 in the live "Flight of Icarus" sound full. The last one especially, a slide down from a falsetto G5.

Hm, can you link me to the performance that you're referring to? Cause the one that I saw was called an F♯5; but I only heard an F5 in it...Ray wrote:His F#5 in the live "Flight of Icarus" sound full. The last one especially, a slide down from a falsetto G5.

This is "Where Eagles Dare"; not "Flight Of Icarus"...Ray wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4TgUP3HNlw

Re: Bruce Dickinson
Sadly his solo career doesn't feature ANY notes above D5, though the D5s are relatively plenty

Alright, I can believe that last F♯5 as being full voice...the "Gangland" ones are surely falsetto, though.Ray wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4TgUP3HNlw

Yea, but he slides to a G5 in the last F#5, and I think you guys said that the vibrato reaches G#5?
Ps. To my suprise, that Dance of Death is pretty much the best display of range for Dicky, I would have wanted to say Legacy, but the lows aren't that low, D3 at the most. But the does have Dickinsons highest vocal melody as far as I know. The "left to all our golden sons" part, which is entirely sung at C5-E5 !

Yeah, it's tricky; but I think there's that falsetto G5 with vibrato up to G♯5, then somewhere in the middle he switches to full voice for that last F♯5. Though I kinda have a hard time believing that myself as I type it...perhaps I should go back for another listen...Goblonaut wrote:Maxim wrote:Alright, I can believe that last F♯5 as being full voice...the "Gangland" ones are surely falsetto, though.Ray wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4TgUP3HNlw

Haven't done a thorough search for this; but yeah, I suspect that "Dance Of Death" is his greatest amount of range displayed in a single song...though I don't know how high "Believil" might get. "From Here To Eternity" only displays C♯2-A4 or something.Goblonaut wrote:Ps. Now that you mention it, Dicky uses a total of 3 octaves, he goes from sustained B4s to short C#5s in the chorus. He might even go lower in the evil sounding laughs he does in the end, though I quickly checked at least a C#2 again. So believi displays most pure range for Dicky, though the E2s in Dance of Death are actually sung rather than spoken.

Re: Bruce Dickinson
Dickinson has one of the best chest voices in rock music and in past ten years live he is better than ever. He is hitting most of the high notes up to D5/Eb5...

Didn't I say "From Here To Eternity" was a D2 at lowest, fry on the C#2?

He still does some E5:s to my knowledge, though very strained. Run to the hills, the legacy. But last he always skips the where eagles dare E5 :/. Also he did the 22 acacia avenue E5s full at some ocassions in 2003.

According to our chat logs, you said "C#2 in full voice, A1/B1 in fry"Ray wrote:Didn't I say "From Here To Eternity" was a D2 at lowest, fry on the C#2?
Don't forget "Aces High"! I've heard him hit E5s in that recently too.Goblonaut wrote:Wanted Dead Or Alive wrote:Dickinson has one of the best chest voices in rock music and in past ten years live he is better than ever. He is hitting most of the high notes up to D5/Eb5...
