Re: Thom Yorke
I doubt that's full seriously... there's such thing as screamy falsetto notes and probably hearing the full clip in context would help.
That video I think ignored too many of his good mid ranged full notes in later albums, it focused so much on the oldest stuff.

Re: Thom Yorke
The G#6 comes from his vocal chords, that is all that matters when it comes to non-modal range.
About that F5, it doesn't strike to me as falsetto. Spydr, I know that there are screamy falsetto notes (which I'm terrible at telling apart from full voice) but that note doesn't have these traditional falsetto marks like over-used vibrato (for some singers), strange soft points or so on. Maxim and Ray will always deny some of the notes as falsetto but this is one of those less-confusing ones (IMO) compared to some notes that sound much more falsettish to others and make me unsure about them.
I agree that it ignored some of his good full voice highs. B4 from "You" is fantastic note, for example.

Yeah, not obvious falsetto at the very least. I listened to it and was reminded of Plant too, I could believe it as full.Timitzii wrote:About that F5, it doesn't strike to me as falsetto. What an amazing performance, Thom's voice sounds so pure during the softer moments...

Re: Thom Yorke
What is the high note he belts at 02:32? I think it is one of his highest belted and sustained full voice notes

I think it's between G4 and A♭4.

I realise this is an old post, but to me it sounds pretty restrained, and the vowel is "UH". Both pretty big giveaways for mixed voice.

Full note, I like the sound of it: reminds me of Plant.

I suggest that you look at the vocal range video that is posted above.

Re: Thom Yorke
I wouldn't even count the D5 and F5 as part as his range. He cant even consistently hit an a4 anymore. He's got a really limited range. I'm not hating on him because I really do like Radiohead alot . . . there should be more falsetto notes on here because thats what he's focused on and its where he shines.

Re: Thom Yorke
He has hit those notes clearly at some point of his career, hence them being included in his vocal range. We have no idea how low/high he could go at the moment, that's why we count everything legit.

Re: Thom Yorke
Heck even his C5 sounds like headvoice to me :-)
I guess more what I'm saying is I think he chest voice cuts off at B4 and the rest is false, to my ears.
