He got down to the bottom of the the 2nd octave and I would call that "high bass"... Otherwise, if the 1st ocatve was high bass territory, where would the "real" bass territory be? Just wondering, thanks.

If he can sing down into the lower 2nd octave and still sound good, that doesn't automatically a bass of some kind. Elvis darkened his tone quite a bit, which made his voice type sound lower than it actually was.

And then there's the fact that Geddy Lee, a HT, can sing just as low as he could.

Hm I guess I should have chosen some other words there... I didn't mean that Elvis was a bass, but just that I thought that he was able sign down into that territory. I totally agree that he's a HB, not an LB.

Yeah, he was a high baritone with good lows.

There's an awesome G2 in He'll Have To Go. Very strong.
Also, is there a full performance of that Big Bossman with the C#5? I've only heard it as part of a range video. That's one of the most intense high C's I've ever heard. Sorry Merc.
There's also some great soft falsetto on I'm Leaving. Sounds like Orbison's D5's in Crying...

Yeah, I wonder what he could have done with a bit of vocal training.

Oh yeah, like that one in the live Rags To Riches...
Still the most powerful B4 I've heard from a rock singer.
