Feel free to correct me Wink

I'm pretty sure he is much lower than a high baritone. His voice is very dense and deep. I'd go for a standard baritone

Standard baritone is a possibility, but aren't his lows too weak to be one? He sounds much more comfortable in the lower 4th octave.

Better singer than Bruce.

I wouldn't say too comfortable, at least when he goes higher in the fourth octave. It's just that in heavy metal you are bound to sing in your higher register most of the time Grin But I haven't checked his whole discography, he must have lower notes in his solo albums!

400 years ago you'd be burned for such heretic sentence. However I'll forgive you Razz What do you think bout his voice type?
Goblonaut: I don't have his entire discography either, but it seems to me that he avoids 2nd octave stuff most of the times. Yeah he gets screamy around A4 but I said lower 4th octave.

I'm actually serious. I prefer Bayley's voice over Dickinson's. Obviously he doesn't have Dickinson's range or power, but as for tone, Bayley comes ahead for me, no contest.

I say he's a good fashioned standard baritone.

Okay, we rejoice in difference of opinion. But as for you calling him a baritone, I agree.

SB, then. There MUST be lower notes from him, though.

Maybbe, almost certainly. But even a baritone might not have lower notes than a D2, every voice is different. After all, the range is just one part of the voice classification, and with the singers we frequently discuss about with an extended range, it's not really reliable way of classifying the voice

At least do you agree with the idea of a baritone bottoming out at E2 being extremely rare?

He may not have displayed anything lower than E2, but I bet he can get lower.

C5s in "My Generation". I also recall one live version of "Sanctuary" where he hit some pretty high notes, I should check the pitches at some point.

I was siding with the idea of Blaze being a high baritone before, but that was mainly judging based on his timbre in his high register...and, well, a lot of lower voice types can sound like high baritones in the upper ranges. Warrel Dane, for one. So judging by the amount that he actually strains up there, I'd say standard baritone is a possibility...however, I'd have to hear more lows by him before I could say so for sure.
