Re: Warrel Dane
Sure, but there's as fair of a chance of there being some more stuff for his range on there as there is of it being on another album. Spydrfish just sent me the stuff that he knows of, but he hasn't listened to the entire Nevermore discography; so if we wanna reach a conclusive verdict on Warrel's range, there's some note-watching to be done.

I wonder if there's a chance that this guy is a bass? I mean though it would put him at the absolute limit for bass high notes, the range that we have him marked for right now could still pass for it; and his C♯2s in "Cenotaph" sound remarkably like Peter Steele...in fact they kinda left me wishing he had recorded more really low stuff; though who knows, maybe he has! Then again, F5 didn't quite sound like his limit...but if we listen through his discography and find no full F♯5s, I'd be ready to consider the possibility of him as a bass. One thing I'm sure of is that Warrel has MUCH more range left on the low end than he does on the high end; so hopefully there is still a chance that we'll catch him going lower than A1 at some point...knowing how rare low notes are in music, though, it may end up being in the form of another interview.

Good point! Suprised we've not heard him sing lower than C2, that kind of low stuff fits his style real well.

Re: Warrel Dane
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna note-watch him after I finish with Ozzy, Hetfield, Lemmy, and Matos; I originally wasn't such a fan of Nevermore's music and found it to be too heavy for my taste, but I'm now thinking I may have been wrong, or that my taste has developed since. Plus, Warrel's just got such an interesting voice that I'd be intrigued enough to sit through almost any music to hear what he'll do with it...so we can see if other low notes may turn up then. The other two "possible" vocal range video candidates are Anselmo and Steele; but I dunno about the idea of note-watching them. If I could learn to endure Steele's music, that one wouldn't be too hard to get done; however, Anselmo has a HUGE discography! Take a look!

Did you check this interview already? I don't remember seeing it before, and it seems to have some pretty low speaking (as usual)...first thing that comes out of his mouth is an A1! Even if fry, haha.

ANSELMO'S DISCOGRAPHY HOLY CRAP
Yeah I've heard that interview, ridiculous low speaking... good that you're willing to listen to his stuff, I don't think Nevermore are too bad though, I love "Psalm of Lydia".

Re: Warrel Dane
I know, right? That's literally including EVERYTHING, though...when you break it down song by song/album by album, it at least isn't AS much...
The first thing I heard by Nevermore was their cover of Judas Priest's "Love Bites", I think...I didn't like that at all, and then my friend showed me "Born", which I found to be a bit too heavy at the time. However, I came back to it sooner or later and found it to be good enough to overrule the too-heavy factor...and I love all the clips of the songs that Spydrfish showed me, so I'm not worried about it being a musically painful task to note-watch for Warrel.
What's the lowest full voice note in that interview?

Re: Warrel Dane
I emailed you some stuff from that interview before, lowest was B1 iirc. Maybe when you get to doing the video you can take care of the songs and I'll take care of the interviews. The A1 was real strong so this guy is a good 4 octave candidate. As is Eriksen... if I ever get to confirm the first octave stuff.

Re: Warrel Dane
Just came across this while listening to "Lucretia My Reflection"...my first thought was that it was a B♭1, but could it actually get as low as G♯1(!) by any chance?

Re: Warrel Dane
Lowest I hear is a C2... what syllable? Actually slowing it right down it seems "looking through" is a C2 which dips down to B1 then back up so that's something. But yeah, where's this Bb1/G#1?

Re: Warrel Dane
Oh, it was on the "we look THROUGH"...it only gets down to B1, though? I was sure it would be at least B♭1...

Oh dear, looks like you've pulled one of those never-ending "brb"s that have become infamous among my friends...
